Role Overview

Muybridge is building a new kind of camera: a long strip of camera sensors, where novel view synthesis generates a seamless virtual viewpoint anywhere along the segment, in real time. The core technology is proven and runs on live productions today.

This role is about the software people use to operate it. You’ll build the control interfaces, applications, and web technologies that turn the technology into a product. Our users are production crews working live broadcasts. If the software is slow or confusing, it fails. Building interfaces that hold up under those conditions is the job.

We are unifying our user-facing applications on SolidJS, and we need someone to own that frontend: the architecture, the standards, and the day-to-day work of building it well. The role is full-stack with a frontend center of gravity. The backend is Rust, much of the interesting work happens at the boundary between the two, and you'll work across it when needed.

The team's scope will grow over time, adding intelligence on the application layer. That is not the focus of this role today, but if it interests you, the opportunity will be there.

What We’re Looking For

You've built and shipped real web applications, and you have opinions about how frontend code should be structured to stay maintainable. You care about the people using the software, as well as the code behind it.

Some guidelines on what we are looking for:

  • Strong experience with modern frontend development. SolidJS is our stack, but experience with React, Vue, Svelte or similar frameworks translates well
  • A good eye for UX and usability
  • Solid grounding in the web platform: TypeScript/JavaScript, browser APIs, state management, performance
  • Comfort working across the stack.
  • A track record of writing robust, tested, production-grade code
  • A collaborative mindset
  • Willingness and motivation to travel internationally

A degree in computer science or a related field is valued but not required; practical experience counts just as much. You'll be working alongside engineers with backgrounds from top universities, industry, and research, and what matters day-to-day is the quality of your work.

Experience with one or more of the following is highly valued:

  • SolidJS specifically
  • Real-time or latency-sensitive UIs: dashboards, control systems, media applications
  • Interfaces for professional operator use rather than consumer apps
  • Rust
  • Broadcast, media, or video technology

Whether you're early in your career or have years behind you, we're keen to hear from you.

What Makes This Role Exciting

  • The chance to help re-imagine the camera, with impact across
industries — from video conferencing, content production, and sports to
    healthcare and industrial applications
  • Exceptionally skilled and passionate colleagues who work shoulder-to-shoulder with you to solve the hard problems
  • A flexible, creative work environment where your ideas carry weight
  • Support for continuous learning — international conferences and room to explore new ideas
  • The opportunity to travel internationally, working directly with customers across markets and industries
  • A competitive compensation package
  • Incentive programs for company ownership — a real stake in what we're building
