This is an opportunity to own IT operations end-to-end for a growing Norwegian technology company on an established foundation that needs to scale with us.

Why Zivid

Zivid builds 3D vision systems that let robots see, understand, and act on what they're picking, combining cameras, software, and motion-planning technology to power automation for manufacturing and logistics customers worldwide.

We're 100+ employees and growing, with offices in six countries, small enough to move fast, established enough to know exactly what industrial customers need. Our core value is the deep tech behind it: the algorithms, calibrations, and designs. IT and security exist to protect that edge, not to check a compliance box. Whoever owns this role is contributing to the core of our business.

12-Month Outcomes

  • After 12 months you have knowledge and control of all systems managing employee workflows, cyber security, and infrastructure provision. You understand the risks and gaps and take steps to mitigate and close.
  • You're the primary, independent decision-maker for IT, not waiting on anyone else's availability to operate day-to-day.
  • A written IT roadmap and budget case exists, reviewed with leadership, reflecting where Zivid is headed, not just patching what's already there.
  • The IT foundation (systems, documentation, processes) are scalable and can take on continued headcount and office growth, and emerging needs of the company, without needing to be restructured.

What You'll Own

  • Full IT operations and information security for 100+ people across Oslo HQ and international sales offices in Germany, the US, Japan, South Korea, and China.
  • Core systems: Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Exchange Online, Unifi networking and VPN, asset and license management (Snipe-IT, Crayon), and IT service management (Jira Service Management).
  • Zivid's certified ISO 27001 ISMS: risk assessments, control operation, policy updates, and coordinating audits.
  • Vendor relationships and IT budget.
  • One direct report: an Information Security Analyst, part-time and remote in a different time zone, who has been central to IT operations at Zivid prior to relocation and has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Zivid IT.
  • You're inheriting a working IT and security foundation (not a blank slate), plus extended support coverage across time zones from day one.
  • You will work with a large group of Engineers, and Operations and Production specialists who rely on domain-specific software systems and infrastructure. Licensing, infrastructure services like hosting and identity management, and security of assets, will be your responsibility, while the super-user roles are filled by domain-specific employees.

You'll lead the technical direction and day-to-day work of the function, including the current Information Security Analyst. Prior people-management experience isn't required for this role; we're open to it being a new skill you build here as the team grows. People-management responsibility will remain with Head of People until you're ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-have

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience owning IT end-to-end, with a similar sized organization and/or scope. What you've done and can do matters more than a checklist of years.
  • Direct experience with Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune (or similar MDM), Microsoft Defender, and Exchange Online.
  • Enterprise networking experience: Unifi (or similar platform) administration and VPN.
  • Comfortable being the final technical authority on IT decisions, without a technical manager reviewing your judgment day to day.
  • Professional English fluency.

Nice-to-have

  • ISO 27001 ISMS operation/maintenance experience; working knowledge of GDPR / personopplysningsloven.
  • Vendor contract ownership and/or budget ownership experience.
  • Information security operations experience: incident response, threat handling, access reviews, vulnerability and patch management (Windows and Linux).
  • Relevant certifications (security, cloud, or ISO 27001-related).
  • Background in a scale-up or engineering-heavy organization (hardware, deep tech, robotics).

Honest Parts

  • This is still a lean function covering everything from day-to-day helpdesk tickets to strategic security decisions. The range is broad and the depth is on you.
  • There's no 24-hour coverage in this function, but incidents don't wait for business hours. Part of the job is designing for that.
  • You report to Head of People, and there's no one above you evaluating your technical judgment day to day. You have to own the decisions, and calibrate your proposals and requests for an audience without deep domain knowledge.
  • This is a high-visibility role for a company our size that cuts both ways: everything you build and fix is noticed and appreciated, but issues are noticed too.

WE OFFER

  • Real ownership over IT and information security at a growing robotics company, from day one, a function to build, not just tickets to close.
  • A working foundation to build on, not a blank slate
  • Competitive compensation package, including sign-on stock options, competitive pension scheme, and premium health insurance plan.
  • An open, collaborative, international environment working alongside people building world-class 3D vision technology.
  • Social events like climbing, running, cage ball, movie night, and company cabin trips.

Practical Details

  • Location: Nydalen, Oslo, Norway. On-site.
  • Start date: As soon as we find the right person.
  • Application deadline: We review applications continuously, but no later than September 1st.

The official language of the company is English.
