About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Director to lead and grow our customer function at Spoor. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for customer success, retention and account growth - building long-term partnerships with renewable energy companies and ensuring they derive maximum value from our solutions.

You’ll blend strategic leadership with hands-on management: from onboarding and adoption to renewals and expansion. You’ll be a trusted advisor to our clients, while laying the foundations for a scalable customer success operation. Over time, you’ll build and lead a team to deliver an outstanding customer experience at every stage of the journey.

What you'll do:

Customer Engagement & Retention

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with customer stakeholders at all levels - from technical teams to executives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, scheduling regular check-ins and business reviews to demonstrate value.
  • Monitor customer health and proactively address challenges to ensure satisfaction, renewal, and long-term retention.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally - sharing feedback with Product, Engineering and other teams to improve the user experience.

Customer Onboarding & Adoption

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a seamless handoff from Sales through hardware installation and software setup.
  • Drive early engagement and adoption to achieve “first value” quickly, supporting customers from pilot deployments to full operational use.
  • Help customers integrate Spoor’s solution into their operations across every phase of a wind project lifecycle.

Account Growth & Expansion

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for account growth - expanding from initial projects into additional sites, regions or broader agreements.
  • Collaborate with Sales (or lead directly as needed) on proposals and negotiations to extend Spoor’s solution across the customer’s portfolio.
  • Position additional Spoor products or services that align with customer goals, turning single-project engagements into multiple projects and long-term partnerships.

Customer Success Strategy & Leadership

  • Establish Spoor’s customer success framework and best practices from the ground up, creating playbooks for onboarding, adoption, renewal and expansion.
  • Define and track key metrics to measure customer success (e.g., adoption rates, NPS, renewal/churn rates) and use insights to drive action.
  • Build and lead a dedicated customer team over time - hiring, mentoring and setting up a structure for scale.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring the team delivers outcomes and exceptional service across all clients.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering and Operations to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve technical challenges, improve product offerings and align on expansion strategies.
  • Ensure customer needs and feedback are heard and prioritized in key company decisions.

  • Experience leading customer success, account management, or customer-focused functions in a B2B SaaS, technology, or climate tech company.
  • A strong track record of building trusted customer relationships, supporting renewals, and driving account growth.
  • Experience creating customer success strategies, processes, and metrics from the ground up.
  • Collaborative leadership skills, with experience mentoring, supporting, or building teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.

  • Experience in renewable energy, wind projects or environmental monitoring.
  • Familiarity with AI, data analytics or hardware-software deployments.
