You will be leading the “People First” reMarkable People Team

reMarkable proudly invests in a “People First” strategy, where the People function is a critical success factor for overall success. As Head of People you will report to the VP People & Culture. You will be an integral contributor on setting the People Strategy aligned with our strategies and growth. In reMarkable the People team have an advisory function both to the Leadership team as well as the organization at large.

As Head of People you will

Together with your team, consequently assess business needs and be involved in how to prioritize and manage ad-hoc HR operational tasks - as well as driving the longer term strategic initiatives. As reMarkable grows and changes, you will set the People team up for success in how to best support the organizational change.

As the Head of People, you will be responsible for:

Leadership and development of the People team: You will lead by example, coach, and mentor a team of 7 People professionals who support our growing workforce of over 450 employees. You will foster a culture of learning, feedback, and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Set up of rM Subs from the People perspective: You will lead and manage the establishment and operation of subsidiaries in different countries from a People perspective. You will coordinate and collaborate with external partners and vendors, such as legal, tax, payroll, and immigration consultants, to ensure a smooth and compliant set up and running of our subsidiaries.

You will be responsible for the People function and deliverables.

  • People operations: You will oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations and processes, such as payroll, benefits administration, employee records, and systems. You will also ensure that we have the right tools to support our People operations for a positive employee experience.

  • Employee relations: You will through collaboration with your team ensure that we have fair, consistent, and compliant policies that promote a positive and respectful work environment. You will be an escalation point to handle complex and sensitive employee issues and provide guidance and support to managers and employees.

  • Performance management: You will help to continuously improve the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to retention and development. This includes managing our performance management and career development processes.

  • Compensation and benefits: You will drive the development and administer competitive and equitable compensation and benefits plans that align with our values.

  • Legal and regulatory compliance: You will ensure that we comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations in the countries where we are to operate and mitigate any potential risks and liabilities related to our People policies.

  • HR analytics: You will leverage data and insights to measure and improve the effectiveness and impact of our people initiatives and programs, providing reports and dashboards to inform and support decision-making.

  • Execute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives: You will champion and lead our DEI efforts and foster a culture of belonging and inclusion. You will design and implement initiatives and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our hiring, development, and retention practices. You will also partner with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness and educate our employees on DEI topics and best practices.

About you

We find that to be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment, preferably in a tech or start-up company

  • Higher education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

In addition it is highly beneficial to have:

  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • A strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data and insights into action

  • A collaborative and influential style, to build strong and trusting relationships with all levels of the organization

  • A hands-on and proactive approach, to execute and deliver results in a fast-changing environment

  • Experience in setting up and managing subsidiaries in different countries from a People perspective

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and languages

  • A deep understanding of and passion for DEI and its impact on organizational culture and performance

  • A growth mindset, with the willingness to learn and adapt

  • A sense of humor, curiosity, and creativity
