Do you want to make products that help people think better?

reMarkable creates hardware and software products that help people all over the world find focus.

We launched our original reMarkable 1 paper tablet in 2017. Since then, we’ve sold more than 1,5 million devices, grown to over 400 employees, and transformed from a small startup to a fast-growing scaleup. Following the successful launch of the reMarkable 2, which was named one of TIME's top 100 inventions of 2020, our subscription service Connect in 2021, and the Type Folio in 2023, we've set ourselves exciting growth and product development goals for the coming years.

With a brand new campus opening in 2024 at Majorstuen in Oslo, and exciting products and services in development, we need new colleagues to join our journey. That’s where you come in.

About the role

At reMarkable, we are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to revolutionize the digital paper experience. We invite you to be a cornerstone of this vision by joining our Embedded Unit. In this pivotal role, you'll harness the power of the hardware, diving deep into graphics processing to both introduce new features and refine our existing pipeline. You won't be on this journey alone; you'll collaborate closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team of domain experts, thriving in a fast-paced environment where innovation is the norm.

Main responsibilities

  • Spearhead low-level optimizations of our graphics pipeline to ensure high efficiency and low latency on our products

  • Conceptualize and develop innovative features to enhance user experience

  • Conduct rigorous testing and benchmarking to maintain the highest quality standards

Who we believe will succeed in this role

  • You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college

  • You possess hands-on experience with embedded systems and products

  • You have a robust understanding of low-level graphics, including nuances of pixels and buffers

  • Familiarity with ARM/SIMD architectures would be a distinct advantage

  • You're proficient in handling threading and concurrency challenges

  • You are an expert in C / C++ and have a drive for continuous learning
