Do you want to make products that help people think better?

reMarkable creates hardware and software products that help people all over the world find focus.

We launched our original reMarkable 1 paper tablet in 2017. Since then, we’ve sold more than 1,5 million devices, grown to over 400 employees, and transformed from a small startup to a fast-growing scaleup. Following the successful launch of the reMarkable 2, which was named one of TIME's top 100 inventions of 2020, our subscription service Connect in 2021, and the Type Folio in 2023, we've set ourselves exciting growth and product development goals for the coming years.

With a brand new campus opening in 2024 at Majorstuen in Oslo, and exciting products and services in development, we need new colleagues to join our journey. That’s where you come in.

About the role

As a Senior Embedded Manufacturing Engineer you will contribute to and lead the team that is responsible for designing, implementing and delivering test systems for manufacturing of reMarkable products. This is a role that will be increasingly important as production volumes and the number of products is growing together with the ambitions of the company.

You will be part of the unit that is responsible for developing and maintaining low-level software for our current and future products. You will be working closely together with other embedded software and hardware domain experts and work in cross-functional teams that are focusing on solving ongoing and future product manufacturing challenges.

You will have the opportunity and responsibility to shape the company's direction and attitude towards manufacturing, quality assurance, test and test automation.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver continuous improvements to manufacturing and manufacturing test systems for ongoing production of current products

  • Design and implement embedded manufacturing tests and test systems for future products, in co-operation with in-house engineers and external manufacturing partners. This includes, but is not limited to, test software, test jigs, reporting systems and test procedures

  • Apply best practices in test methodology, electronics manufacturing and software engineering

  • Oversee that reMarkable is set up for continuous manufacturing with low down-time and minimal risk

  • Support ongoing manufacturing partners with technical advice, troubleshooting and problem solving

Who we believe will succeed in this role

We hope you are an experienced embedded electronics manufacturing engineer or test engineer, with interest in and knowledge about software development. It is also great if you are an experienced embedded software engineer with interest in and knowledge about embedded manufacturing test and test automation.

Together with this we are looking for someone with experience developing and delivering manufacturing test systems or embedded system software for industrial or consumer electronics, and that you are comfortable with working with foreign manufacturing and engineering partners.

It is also great if you want to specialize further in embedded manufacturing test, lead and build a team around it, and that you have some experience with leading engineering teams either for software development or manufacturing test development.
