Job Description

The Training Representative will manage and direct the activities associated with the education, training and development of U.S. Steel employees both hourly and salary at the plant level.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Manage departmental Business Plan Build & Maintain schedule of training classes.
  • Supervise U.S. Steel training staff.
  • Identify, select & manage outside resources for training services, i.e. Community Colleges, training vendors, equipment providers.
  • Consult with Division & Staff management relative to specific departmental training needs.
  • Conduct assessments/surveys periodically to determine plant training needs.
  • Promote & communicate training opportunities/classes/programs.
  • Develop a suite of training programs and topics related to the areas of Safety, Computing, Leadership, that address the needs of the employees of the plant.
  • Plan, develop & implement a strategy to train & develop the workforce.
  • Review PRA Training Recommendations & develop a strategy to address these needs.
  • Provide project management support for implementation of corporate initiatives .
  • Organize training venues, logistics, transportation, accommodations, training rooms.
  • Maintain all equipment, projectors, office equipment, buildings.
  • Implement effective systems to measure the effectiveness of the training process and support ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Develop curriculums, learning objectives & course material for training programs.
    • Facilities and Resources Include: Plant Training Center, outside resources & laboratory equipment.
    • Training Areas include: Safety & Industrial Hygiene threatening training, Management Associate Training Programs, Management Development Programs, Vicing Foreman Training Educational Programs such as on-site Graduate School programs, degree completion.
  • Identify & schedule individuals for Advanced Leadership programs, i.e. New Managers, Leadership Development.
  • New Employee Orientation.
  • University supported educational certificates & special programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or Management, concentration in Human Resources or Instructional Design helpful.
  • 2 years’ experience in Adult Education, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development or other training related experience.
Salary Range: $65,065 - $78,720/yr. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
