Public Affairs Manager

Support Innovation in Farming with the World's First Virtual Fence

If you’re passionate about sustainable agriculture and want to help raise awareness and adoption of this impact-driven technology, this is your chance to drive real change from the ground up.

Nofence is a fast-growing Norwegian agri-tech company on a mission to support farmer well-being, enhance animal welfare and foster better soil health. Their virtual fencing system is the first of its kind to be commercially available - used by farmers in 30+ countries to progressively replace physical fences and bring animals in cohesion with nature.

To expand our Public Affairs practice, we are looking for a Public Affairs Manager who can help raise awareness of virtual fencing and its benefits among a wide range of stakeholders - including government officials, parliamentarians, industry representatives, researchers, NGO employees, etc. - to help create favourable policy and funding conditions for virtual fencing adaptation across key markets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of European affairs and the policy landscape in Brussels. It would be beneficial for the candidate to have experience engaging with stakeholders at the national and/or local level in EU Member States, particularly Spain. He/she will also have relevant experience in media engagement to support policy goals. This role offers flexibility in location. You can choose to work from our vibrant Spain office in Vitoria-Gasteiz, or embrace the convenience of remote work in Spain or Brussels, depending on your preference.

This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to contribute to Nofence’s global stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Availability for occasional national and international travel.

  • Proven ability to lead impactful public affairs programmes - from policy monitoring and stakeholder mapping to drafting policy papers and consultations, facilitating stakeholder meetings and events, as well as building strategic partnerships with key organisations.

  • Strong business acumen is key - in other words, demonstrate a strong ability to connect Public Affairs activities to the value they generate for our business.

  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable - you thrive in a scale-up/start-up culture.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Excellent at building and fostering relationships.

  • A solid understanding of the European policy landscape - both at the national level, particularly in Spain, and at the EU supranational level - with insight into key stakeholders and their policy priorities.
