About the Role
As the Communications Manager at Kahoot!, you will drive the development and execution of robust communication programs that align with the company's objectives and strategies. Your role involves actively engaging stakeholders and delivering key messages effectively to diverse internal and external audiences.
About the Team
You will become an integral part of a dynamic and diverse international team, with operations based in both Norway and the United States. In this role, you will also engage with a broad network of global partners and colleagues, contributing to projects that span multiple regions and cultures. Given the international nature of the team, you will be expected to work across various time zones, requiring a flexible and adaptive approach to communication and coordination. Your direct reporting line will be to the Chief Solutions Officer, who is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Strategic Communications Planning & Execution:
- Oversee the creation of communication programs for company announcements, campaigns and partnerships
- Support the development of key messages and narratives to communicate Kahoot!'s value proposition, educational impact, and engaging features to global audiences across segments Home, School and Work.
Media Relations & Public Relations (PR):
- Manage PR agencies in dedicated (priority) markets such as Europe, the Americas, and Asia Pacific.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, media outlets, industry influencers, and analysts in the education, technology, and gaming sectors.
- Prepare and brief senior executives for media interviews, press conferences, and public appearances.
- Develop press releases, media kits, and other PR materials, ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice.
- Monitor media coverage for dedicated markets and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
- Proactively identify opportunities for positive media exposure and thought leadership for Kahoot!
Content Strategy & Development:
- Collaborate with marketing, customer experience, product, and sales teams to ensure consistent messaging across all external communications.
- Ensure all communications adhere to Kahoot!'s brand guidelines and tone of voice
Partner engagement:
- Interface with Partners - Develop “go to market” communication programs with the Kahoot! Partner team and external partners
- Maintain strong communication channels with partners to ensure smooth information flow and address any communication-related needs or issues.
- Ensure that any external communications involving partners adhere to Kahoot!'s brand guidelines and tone of voice, while also respecting the partner's brand identity
Internal Communications:
- Working with HR in developing and executing internal communication strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the company vision, values, and strategic priorities.
- Oversee town halls and other internal communication channels.
- Support leadership in communicating organizational changes, successes, and challenges effectively to the internal team.
- A Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in communications, preferably within a fast-paced technology or consumer-facing company.
- Track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies.
- Experience in media relations and internal communications
- Experience with global communications and working across different cultures.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- English as a mother tongue is a requirement. Additional languages such as Norwegian are beneficial
