About GRIN

We are on a mission to disrupt non-sustainable consumption and lead the circular revolution. We’re an early-phase start-up based in Oslo, collaborating with some of the largest companies in the world, helping them transition from linear to circular. We are located at StartupLab at Oslo Science Park, the epicenter of Norway’s tech start-up scene.

We develop new solutions based on cutting-edge technology; from sensors and hardware to software, AI, and cloud solutions- and everything in between.

As part of the GRIN team, you will be part of shaping and scaling a company, as well as innovating and developing new technical solutions and new global business models necessary for a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the team to find the optimal solution
• Bringing up new hardware platforms
• Implementing device drivers and integrating devices
• Creating and maintaining a build system with yocto
• Closely working with hardware development, selection of devices, and platform
• Unit testing, debugging and fixing the issues

Requirements

• Good skills in any one or couple of the programming languages: C/ C++ / Rust (preferable)
• Knowledge of design patterns
• Experience in working with device drivers
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, BLE
• Understanding of multi-threading and IPC (inter-process communication)
• Experience with IOT, MQTT protocol
• Experience with yocto ( building images, changing platforms, adding recipes, applying patches, creating toolchain)
• Good skills in unit testing and debugging issues.
• Familiarity with the cloud (AWS / Azure)
• Git and CI / CD through git actions
• Familiarity with Nvidia Jetson
• Familiarity with over-the-air (OTA) upgrades of firmware
• Familiarity with over-the-air (OTA) upgrades of firmware
• Able to communicate and collaborate well within a team
• Understanding of micro-service architecture
• Passionate to learn new things/technologies/frameworks
