About the role

Our customers think we're transformational. Generational. That we're building a new product category.

We have real traction — 66% of our customers are in Norway, and we're growing on our own revenue.

What we haven't done well is tell that story. Our positioning is inconsistent across construction, planning, and operations, and our best proof points aren't being used.

The gap we need you to close

AnkerDB is a pioneering way to work with BIM data, and the industry doesn't fully know it's coming yet. Construction, planning, and operations have never had something like this before, so people reach for familiar comparisons to make sense of it. Those comparisons rarely do us justice.

Many people in this industry have worked the same way for 20–30 years. We're not asking them to learn a new tool — we're asking them to rethink how they work. That's a bigger, harder, and more significant ask than most technology gets to make.

This isn't a branding problem to smooth over. It's the real work of introducing something the market doesn't have a category for yet — helping people understand something genuinely new, without jargon, and without shrinking it down to a comparison that undersells what it actually is.

This is one of the most interesting — and hardest — parts of the role.

This role isn't a junior marketing seat. It's one of the highest-leverage hires we'll make this year — you'll work directly with me and our business development leaders, turning live deals and customer results into positioning, content, and messaging that actually lands across every market where we have traction.

This isn't a build-awareness-from-zero role. It's a translate-what's-working-into-a-story role, done exceptionally well.

Key responsibilities

  • Work directly with me and our business development leaders as a core positioning partner
  • Define who we're really talking to — segmenting construction, planning, and operations into the specific profiles worth targeting, so positioning and content have a clear audience, not a generic one
  • Turn active deals and customer results into sharp, credible content and messaging
  • Own the company's website, content, and marketing channels
  • Make complex topics in BIM, data, and AI clear and compelling — no jargon
  • Build the systems to know what's working: inbound leads, message recall, and — most importantly — whether sales conversations get easier and faster to win
  • Take positioning proven in one market and stress-test it before rolling it out elsewhere

What we're looking for

  • Someone genuinely exceptional — this bar matters more than years of experience
  • Strong business understanding and real interest in company building
  • Comfortable working from live commercial context, not campaigns in a vacuum
  • Excited by ambiguity and ownership, not managing a pre-built playbook
  • An outstanding writer — can make complex things simple
  • B2B/SaaS/technical product experience a plus, not required
  • Construction/real estate familiarity a plus, not required
  • Full professional English
  • Able to work CET/UK hours, ±1–2 hours

Forget the CV. Send me: your full name, LinkedIn profile, and a PDF — one page, no more — critiquing our current positioning and proposing how you'd fix it. Use our website and job postings as your source material. I want to see how you think, not where you've worked.
